Mitsol FTTH South Coast Scoop – Edition Four

Welcome to the Fourth Edition of the Mitsol Fibre South Coast Scoop, keeping you in the fibre loop. This newsletter will keep you up to date with the status of all Mitsol fibre builds in Amanzimtoti and provide you with some important facts about fibre.

Mitsol Fibre Build Progress Report

Athlone Park – 100% completed

Doonside Beach Road – 100% completed

Kingsborough Beach Road – 100% completed

Warner Beach – 100% of the civil work completed, fibre floating has commenced and is about 70% complete. Home installs have started and we are determined to have this area live by the end of November.

Amanzimtoti North of Seadoone Road – 100% of the civil work is complete, and fibre floating has started. Home installs have also started and we are still pushing hard to have this area live by the end of December.

Doonside, Doonheights, Shulton Park – This build will kick off in the new year and civils are estimated to take 1 month, fibre to be ready by the end of February. We are taking pre-orders and will start to book home drops at the beginning of January.

Illovo Glen, Astra Park, St Winifreds, Winklespruit – Builds have not yet commenced, as we have been waiting for the other contractors to complete their work before we move in.

Growing Culture Landscaping

While we endeavour to ensure that an area we work in is left as we found it, it has proven incredibly difficult when working alongside another fibre network operator laying infrastructure. Mitsol are passionate and meticulous about the quality of our builds, and have therefore partnered with a local landscaping company, Growing Culture Landscaping, to assist us in reviving the verges. The landscaper will assist us in reinstating some of the trenches that have been eroded away by the recent heavy rains and will also replant these trenches to ensure structural integrity of the soil.

Mitsol Sponsors Amanzimtoti Schools & Churches With Fibre

Mitsol is reaching out to all schools and churches within Amanzimtoti, and will be sponsoring a 100Mbps Mitsol Fibre Internet service for each entity on an indefinite basis. Mitsol will be commencing the fibre builds within their premises soon and although the school year is almost over, we hope this will bridge the broadband digital divide.
